Palm Beach Grill Review: A Culinary Delight Year-Round
Palm Beach Grill is a delight for several reasons, especially during the off-season. From post-Easter to mid-October, getting a reservation is a breeze. My husband and I often stroll in without a hitch, though reservations are always a safe bet.
The Bar Scene
When you enter, you have two options: You must check-in with one of the hostesses for your reserved table or dive into the bustling bar area. The bar is lively and can be quite noisy adding to its charm. The high-top tables around the bar offer a great vantage point to people watch, but to use these tables you must see the bartender first who will have a list of availability. If you have a reservation and are waiting for your table to become available, they do prefer you to have a drink or mingle at the sidebar. These four tables are perfect for ordering food and drinks from the full menu since a waitress is available.
Consistently Delicious Food
Palm Beach Grill, which opened in 1999 is part of the popular Hillstone restaurant group. The food is consistently tasty, with no surprises – just guaranteed deliciousness. Our first picture below features chilled jumbo shrimp with cocktail and mustard sauce – three crispy, mouth-watering shrimp that I didn't want to share...so get two orders! The emerald kale salad is a hit among many and while I didn't snap a photo, it’s definitely worth trying for a first course. I also enjoyed a special Caesar salad with corn, packed with Parmesan and a hint of lemon.
Main Course
My favorite main course is the seared sliced ahi tuna sitting on almond sauce. The salad that accompanies the tuna is mango, avocado, cucumber and sesame miso vinaigrette. The salad also has chili peppers, macadamia nuts, cilantro and mint which complements the perfectly seared tuna beautifully. It used to include hearts of palm – a welcome addition if they bring it back! (Hint! Hint!) Lastly, the fish of the day is always a hit, served with delicious sides.
Fourth of July Favorites
As I am blogging, the 4th of July week is just ahead and you can't go wrong with the silver service kosher hot dog served with crispy fries, coleslaw and a deviled egg. Load up the toppings for a festive celebration. The mouthwatering hamburger with corn on the side is another great choice, especially this weekend. My husband's favorite? The ribs, sprinkled with peanuts – simply irresistible.
Splurge-Worthy Dishes
For a splurge, try the filet with béarnaise, palm puree (mashed potatoes) and seasonal green vegetables for $65. It's a bit pricier but worth every penny.
Sweet Endings
I've only tried the ice cream for dessert, but they bring enough spoons for everyone to share, making it a sweet end to a delightful meal.
Just keep in mind, this is a grill, not a café. There may not be any TVs, but it is noisy and a very popular place.
After writing this, I can't wait for our next visit – hopefully soon!
I would add the grilled ribeye steak(no bone) as an entre but ask for something different from the string fries.Otherwise great
